Eeek – I can hardly contain my delight! It’s been an absolute madhouse of productivity here these past couple weeks & now all the goodies that were so diligently working on are coming to life! First up, this super soft gray tee with the Beijing Taxi logo that I designed as the film gears up for it’s SXSW premier on the 15th! Miao Wang, the writer / director / producer behind the story of three cabbies making the shift between pre- and post-Olympic Beijing, is such a pleasure to work with and if any of you readers are in Austin between the 15th and 19th of March, be sure to finagle your way into one of the three screenings…
YZ and I have been busy working on the title sequences for Beijing Taxi, a documentary by Miao Wang’s 3 Waters Productions which will be world premiering at this year’s SXSW festival in the Documentary Features category. The film is stunning – telling the stories of three Beijing taxi drivers as they face the tremendous changes of the pre-Olympics city. Miao, the film’s director and producer, took the time to answer some of our questions about the film and what it takes to drive a cab in the Chinese capital.
