Tetris Turns 25!

Happy 25th birthday to my absolute favorite procrastination tool! Tetris, which was designed and programmed by Alexey Pajitnov on June 6, 1984, is so ingrained in my visual vocabulary that even now I catch myself staring into space, turning the shapes around me into the game’s iconic Tetrominoes and arranging them on my subconscious’ Game Boy screen. Whether battling against my brother during summer months at our grandparents’ or hiding in a corner of the house and playing for hours, just to see the little Russian dancers and congratulatory fireworks for passing the last level, Tetris just never lost its luster…
