Duck Duck Goose » Shaping Young Minds…

There’s just something elevated about wooden toys – the lovely way they age from endless afternoons of playtime, the texture of their surface, the woodsy smell… Miller Goodman’s ShapeMaker and PlayShapes have all these qualities and a massive dose of up-to-date design sense.
Business partners Zoe Miller and David Goodman started the company just two years back and soon thereafter won the 2008 Best Gift for Kids award from Top Drawer followed in 2009 with the Gold Award from Practical Pre-School for their ShapeMaker – a set of 25 colorful, hand printed blocks made of sustainable rubberwood:
“Children loved this product, with the young ones making pictures from the patterned blocks and the older ones timing each other to see who was fastest. There were lots of different pictures to create, which really tested the children’s thought processes as they had to get specific bricks for each picture. It promoted good team work and sharing skills, with the children taking it in turns to find pieces and choose pictures to put together. An all round great product.”
The modular PlayShape set is equally stimulating for little minds (3yrs +) with 74 geometric rubberwood blocks with which to build endless 3D creations. The smooth shapes can also be used as drawing templates – a big plus in the eyes of this obsessive compulsive multitasker… The set comes with a printed, unbleached cotton drawstring bag and a set of illustrations to get you started!
