David David Classic T-Shirt Print BW and Print AY

Artist-gone-fashion-designer David Saunders started his fashion career as an attempt to spiff up his fashion-party ensembles. From there, he quickly became known for his hand-painted geometric tees and apprenticeships, collaborations (Fred Perry, House of Holland), and a label (David David) quickly ensued. Although he did offer a few seasons worth of separates and sportswear, the David David line is now concentrating on what the designer loves most: tees (and an accessory here and there). You can snag your very own pop art piece from his shop. We particularly love these stripes and polka-dots…

Fashion Scout » Emdal ColorKnit (…Purl Knit Purl)

In case you haven’t heard, Copenhagen is the word. A hub for hip designers, the city has cemented itself as one of fashion’s most promising destinations of late. Among the slew of talented young creatives there, we at Lo’s List are loving Signe Emdal. Three years ago, the textile designer and artist launched Emdal ColorKnit, a line of digital knits with eye-popping color and graphic intrigue…

Loving the youthful, slightly naughty, tomboyishness of this tee assortment from Rethink Clothing. What do you expect from a clothing company that employs only college-level designers for their creative vision. Why, we ask…

T-Shirt Tuesdays » Masked Clothing

LA All Day

Masked Clothing LA All Day Tee

As YZ & I gear up for a quick trip out west it’s clear that I’ve got LA on the brain. This loud LA All Day tee from Masked Clothing, with its timeless Run DMC-esque typographic treatment, immediately caught my eye (for those of you who have no love for Lala Land there’s a great NYC version as well). But the San Jose tee boutique, run by an elusive designer called Bori, has a slew of equally eye-catching designs: masked grizzly bears, masked Marilyn Monroe, masked primate, etc. There’s even a masked Misfits skull! Way to stand behind your name.

Lo's List /// Hard Graft® 2UNFOLD (Open)

Hard Graft® 2UNFOLD Laptop Convertible Backpack in Gray

I’ve been ogling these goods for years now, back when Hard Graft® was still Working Class Heroes, and this Austrian-English creative team has only improved with the years. The show-stopper of the collection is by far their 2UNFOLD convertible laptop backpack, available in gray or brown Italian vegetable-tanned leather. Large enough to fit your Macbook, some mags, a jumper, your charger, etc, etc, this super-bag can be carried as a backpack, fold-over clutch, or messenger. The perfect amount of external pockets, elegant hardware, and a black cotton canvas lining are just three more reasons to wistfully count the days ’till the bag is yours.

Miao Wang, the writer / director / producer behind the story of three cabbies making the shift between pre- and post-Olympic Beijing, is such a pleasure to work with and if any of you readers are in Austin between the 15th and 19th of March, be sure to finagle your way into one of the three screenings…

Fifi Lapin (that’s Fifi the Bunny in French) has a huge fan in Lo’s List (check out our previous post on the fashionable thumper here) thus, when we saw her illustrations popping up on tees around the interwebs we took it as a sign that it was high time for an update…

Fashion Scout » Hipster Swagger with Zuriick Kicks

Zuriick's Beata Shoe in Navy

Zuriick’s Beata Shoe in Navy

Started about five years back, this Salt Lake City shoe company put themselves on the map with their simple & bright line of canvas and leather ked-esque kicks. The designing duo behind Zuriick shoes wanted a sleeker alternative to the clunky skate shoes available on the market and set out producing a first run of sweatshop-free Ake sneaks to sell to local stores and friends. Well, the business has grown, adding a woman’s shoe line, oodles of classy colorways for the dozen+ models, and a small selection of apparel…

“Life is work and work is life. I do not even attempt to separate the two, sometimes I can’t remember whether my friends are clients or my clients are friends, it’s all blended together.
