Fashion has taken its love for heels to new heights the past few seasons. More than the finishing touch to an outfit, footwear has emerged as art in its own right. Beyond the obvious hotsteppers — Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, United Nude — Icelandic label Kron is turning heads. Each shoe is a stunning mashup of colors, textures, and intricate detailing. Take one tangerine-colored patent leather platform heel (above), add a peach and gray perforated suede toe with cream ruffles, and finish with three velvet bowtie straps in black, yellow and lime. Presto! A delicious Kron shoe creation from their most recent collection. It’s a kaleidoscope of colors and funky styles — wedges, booties, short-stack heels — each one more marvelous than the next. Assuming Kron’s price was on par with its cohorts, we were content to ogle the brand from afar. As it turns out, these beauties are selling in the ballpark of 250 $US! ZOINK. That was the sound of our credit card just being swiped.

PS… Check out KronKron’s online clothing shop as well, which carries some of our favorite labels including Bernhard Willhelm, Henrik Vibskov, Sonia Rykiel, and Wood Wood!
