This cozy collection of housewares and ephemera by Donna Wilson has me yearning for my knitting needles. And, with the snow fluttering down like powdered sugar today, this is quite the perfect weather for some crafting… The Londoner discovered her passion for knitting while obtaining an MA at Gray’s School of Art in Scotland, honing the skill at London’s Royal College of Art where she completed a second MA in Mixed Media Textiles. It isn’t hard to see where all the schooling went: the designs are a harmonious mix of folky, angular figures and patterns, quality materials like cashmere, lambswool, and linen, and sunny, uplifting hues. Be sure to check out Donna’s blog where you’ll find her zany cast of characters climbing on the furniture, snoozing under the artist’s mini blankets and lamenting about the constant, England rain!

“My imaginary wonderland is a land where everything is made of soft wool, trees are knitted and instead of growing leaves, pom poms sprout out, strange knitted creatures eat cup cakes and doughnuts sprinkled with stitching. The creatures are different shapes and sizes like odd socks, some have extra long legs, some have two heads, some are grumpy or shy and all are not what they seem. Scale and proportions are stretched or squashed, there are no rules.” — D.W.
